    Finicky

    The game is a lot of fun when it works but it’s not real durable. We purchased this one to replace one from last year. Kids have to be really careful not to drop standing up. So we have them sit when playing. The “shock” doesn’t hurt but def startles you. Our teens and adults use it. It’s a little too much for my younger kids that are 10 and under.

    Overall it’s fun, not easy to figure out and very tough to read

    This is decent for kids/young adults, the shock isn’t strong enough to bother anyone besides kids. I put it on the highest setting with fresh batteries and held it to see and it was disappointing to say the least. It was a family trip though so the kids got to play with it and had fun. Overall, not bad but the writing on the thing is super small and the same color as the potato, very difficult to see what it says.

    Revised – No shock…I mean none

    We have a dud…it plays music…but absolutely no shock…in any mode. I’ve tried two different sets of new batteries and tried to reset it with a paperclip twice. Super disappointed because the plan was to use it at a party today…also because for the price, I did expect it to do SOMETHING. Guess I should have tried it earlier…UPDATE – the seller sent us a new potato that works and is fun. I took one star off because the first potato didn’t work so we weren’t able to use it for the party it was purchased for.

    Super fun!!

    So easy to use and great fun for everyone. We had a group of people from age 5 to 65 and played all versions of the game. We laughed until some cried. Thank goodness it is durable because it is inevitable that it gets thrown to the ground! The shock feels tingly, almost like sticking your tongue to a 9volt battery without the metallic taste. Super fun and definitely recommend!!

    Shockingly fun

    This is great. You will want to record it as you will definitely laugh and can use later for blackmailing. Be sure to not act like it’s bad or people won’t play it.The ‘Lame’ has no shock but sound, and the ‘Normal’ and ‘Extreme’ appear to be the same.The ‘Extreme’ just beeps once and then is silent. You can turn it on and then have a friend just hold it and it will go off.That sound it makes is kind of eerie so be sure to play in the dark and the woods. Then sneak up and scare the s*#+ out of them.It’s not bad of a shock but more of a ‘I wasn’t expecting it.’ Mine was dropped/thrown every single time into the grass and never had issues. Bring several sets of batteries as they can go quick.I also had to hold the power button to first turn it on. And no problems since then.Don’t be shocked if you lose some friends or at least you can find out which ones are wimps.Once they realize that it’s not that bad, you could convince them that outlets aren’t bad either.Either way, you will have lots of fun; for about 20-30 minutes.But it would nice if you could rig it with bigger batteries.

    Hilarious

    This was a gift for our Christmas white elephant exchange that we do every year. After the festivities we play games and do puzzles, etc. This was the first game everyone voted on. It was so hilarious! Lots of screaming and a few people getting hit in the face in a frantic effort to pass it off before it was too late. Totally awesome.

    Hilarious at ladies night!

    We played this at ladies night and it got crazy! My only rule was: don’t break the tv. Women were screaming and hurling it all over the place, myself included!3 settings: lame, normal, extreme.My friend said she tried it on lame and it only vibrates. We haven’t tried extreme because the normal is already plenty strong enough. Whoever gets shocked hurls it and it made for a ton of fun!I bought this and didn’t use it for a year because I was too scared of it. Once i did, it was a hit!The box says it’s for ages 14+. I think it would be too strong for littles.

    The media could not be loaded.

     A MUST BUY! I love the different levels it may be set on. It does zap hard on extreme. If you have rings on I think the zap is his harder.OUR RULES: For adults we collected money in a hat & gave all players $1 for buy back in to continue to play (which went in hat) some threw a $5 in but after getting zapped 3 times the jack pot wasn’t worth it. LOL. (ON EXTREME setting) he bailed out on the game.I’m attaching a video of the last 2 players on game. And it must be held with 2 hands not “batted” away. The video is on music and zap mode. It was a blast for kids and adults.Oh! be sure to have batteries ready to play.

    Easily exciting game

    My son got this in his Christmas stocking and it is the most played with thing ever. Flip a switch and it turns on the suspenseful music and you’ll have this tossing around with many laughs. Probably the best purchase of all gifts given.*PS-the shock isn’t bad at all. Mostly alarming. My toddler was playing with it and when it shocked him, he didn’t cry – just looked surprised.

    Bizarre but fun, has a “no shock” mode

    I bought this as a Christmas gift for my teenagers. It arrived in a soft mailer envelope with the product box smashed nearly to pieces. (I am not sure if this is the seller’s fault or Amazon’s). I made sure the potato wasn’t damaged, patched the box as best I could, and wrapped it “as is”.The game has been a hit. It has several modes, including a family-friendly version with no shocking involved. It was meant to be a stocking stuffer; ten minutes in, the whole family was tossing it around and having a blast.

    Great Dirty Santa Gift.

    I bought this as a Dirty Santa gift. I ended up taking it home. Let me just say if you’re brave enough…this is a very fun game! It does give you a little jolt, but on the highest setting it feels like one of those gag buzzer pens. The potato feels tough and durable. Let me just say, that’s a good thing because this will get dropped, thrown, and chunked when it goes off. Everyone that played it loved this game. It would make a great gift for any game loving person! Would recommend!

    Disappointed there’s a warning label for 14 and under, the 3 levels of shock could be appropriate for dome grade levels, however since there’s a warning I can’t utilize with kids, family loved it, played it maybe 7x and only did the music countdown once, so it’s very difficult to determine if it’s started or not, even though the shock even on extreme isn’t bad, I would still recommend to not use with cry babies

    Beyond Hilarious Fun!!!

    When we first opened it and started to toss it around at our daughter’s 13th birthday party, NO ONE knew what to expect, so the first person to be caught with the potato at the end of the music about lost it!!! We all had a good laugh until it was us caught with the potato!!! It has incredible vibrations that truly make you think your getting a little jolt!!! What a great party surpriser!!! Everyone needs to have one of these for their party, whether it be teens, frat parties, or just getting together with a bunch of friends in your 40’s!!! This potato will definitely put some life into your party!!!

    Laughed till I cried!

    I have 3 sons, aged 15, 14, and 9. They tried it, loved it, then begged Mom and Dad to join. We have NEVER laughed so hard as a family while playing a game. I get the giggles every time I think about it. We actually haven’t tried it on the extreme level, the normal level is enough! We’ve already decided it’s coming with us to our next extended family gathering!

    It’s a winner for the holiday family gathering. The shock is surprising but bearable, like accidentally touched a live wire while working on cars, or licking a 9 volt battery. It’s amusing that most people can’t relate. Anyhow, you’ll find out who is a chicken doodle in the party real quick with this game. I like how it has a lame setting that doesn’t shock but still plays the sound effects. We were able to play with young kids without inducing shock to them while keeping the thrill on high octane.

    Loved it at first, not working

    This was great at first. You will get a lot of laughs out of it. But it after about 5 games, it stopped shocking. Changed the batteries, and still nothing. The music plays, but no shock. And let’s be honest, that’s the whole reason you get it.

    Pro Tip: put on extreme mode so it doesn’t make a sound and randomly drop it behind family and friends on the couch, maybe place in hoodie hood… regardless of the location it delivers quite a shock. Adult depends advised… not for the person being shocked… but for the crowd as we hace all Perf our pants at one pint in time from laughing sooo hard.Disclaimer: We have a dark sense of humor and no actual humans have been injured to date. The shock doesn’t hurt but mannnnn it feels so weird. Makes ya scream!!!

    Fun gift! Older kids & up loved it!

    This was a fun gift! My 10 yr old, teens & older cousins had a blast with it. It was worth the $ just to watch them all. Very entertaining! Shocks but not painful. Bought it last year, put new batteries in it this year & it wouldn’t work. I almost threw it out but checked the instructions & glad I did. There’s a small reset that you press with a paper clip or similar. Works fine now!

    Seriously hilarious! It’s a fun, intense game that’s great for any age and gathering. This was a x-mas gift and we had 11 yo’s – 65 yo’s playing, and laughing the whole time! Just beware- the shock can be intense so careful where you play. I recommend this to anyone who likes to laugh and have fun.

    Bunch of teenagers had a great time with this!

    My daughter was going on a weekend retreat with a bunch of other teenagers and I thought they’d have a great time with this. I was right! They ended up playing it with 15+ kids and it was one of the “hit games” of the weekend. Even on the highest setting it’s really not enough to cause discomfort…it’s akin to a static electricity shock that you might get from touching something. And the music that it plays really ads to the tension of the whole game.I was surprised when it arrived that it’s very well built. I was expecting a cheap plastic gadget that would probably break after being dropped a few times. Nope! It’s made of some really tough kind of plastic and feels very solid. I can report that after many many drops, it still looks great and works as it should!

    So much fun! The game will give you a little “shock” (like those old hand buzzer things you can buy at the joke/magic store) if you are the one holding it when the music stops playing. I’ve gifted it multiple times and recommend it as well. Also has settings for no shock- vibrate instead so it’s an all around great hot potato game! Fun for everybody

    Great teen gift

    This was a gift for my teenager. We tried it out as a family and I can honestly say I never want to play it again with the zap part on! My son and his friends love it though and take it as a challenge. It’s always funny to watch someone play the first time.

    Want a shockingly fun game? YOU CONDUIT with this one.

    This game is fun to play with our high school and college students. In the easy and medium modes, this game is light hearted and fun… but on extreme mode, this game is INSANE. I hate getting shocked, so the thrill on extreme mode of not having sound to cue you when you might get buzzed is downright scary.NOTES:* Durable / yet wonky: obviously, some people will be too scared to catch the potato before tossing it to the next person… as such, our potato has met the ground several times. I’ve noticed that it’s taken a beating on concrete and low pile rugs over hard floors at least 30 times up until this point.. but it still works… HOWEVER… occasionally when it hits the floor, the potato “resets” and you have to turn the potato on again and select the game mode.* Definitely not for children: there are age suggestions for this device, and for a good reason… the shocks can be a bit intense. I played with my 9 year old and she got zapped pretty bad to the point where she is extremely hesitant to play again.

    Okay, this is worth the money! I bought to bring for our upcoming camping trip with family and friends and wanted to test it out. I was the first one zapped and I haven’t laughed so hard playing a game. I highly recommend!! It does give a good zap!!

    Super fun game! Lots of excitement!

    We played yes this once and all it takes is someone that is afraid to catch it and it hits the floor or ground and after not too many hits it dies.It’s still makes all the sound but it won’t shock anymore. But that first 20 minutes is a blast! Everybody is laughing and having so much fun! Since it only lasted not even a full game of 20 to 30 minutes I did not feel like it was worth $30. That is why I thought the value for the money was not quite there. If they can figure out how to make it more durable it would be perfect!

    Adds some real fun the hot potato game

    I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 9 year old son for Christmas. I wasn’t expecting much, but this hot potato exceeded my expectations and then some. It’s a hard plastic potato with discs that will give a few small static “shocks” at the end of a round. It doesn’t hurt at all, but it is definitely surprising! It was so much fun to toss around with my kids. There are 3 settings to it :1) lame (where it plays the hot potato music but doesn’t shock at all)2) normal (plays music and shocks at the end)3) extreme (no sound at all, but will still shock at the end of the round).Lots of fun for my 9 and 11 year old kids!

    Let me paint you shocking a picture.

    So I bought this for fun with my nieces and nephew; instead it has brought the true evil genius that my youngest niece is. So I turned on my shock potato one night and handed it to my youngest niece(normal mode both music and shocking). She held for it for a few seconds before asking what it was. I told her how it was like a hot potato that shocks you. Cue five seconds of the greatest, two handed, panic juggle I have ever seen before she realizes she can put it on the table. My mom walks in the room and she and I both yell “pick it up”. She picks it and stares at us with a silent panic that screams “Why did I pick this up? It is going to shock me?” She gets shocked a few seconds later and none of us can stop laughing. About two weeks goes by and she loves playing with this thing. She found out about the extreme mode where there is no music. So she turns it on asks one of my sister’s friends to hold it while she washes her hands. The poor guy gets shocked, screams, and drops both the potato and his soda. She’s laughing so hard she falls to the floor this time. And that is how I learned my niece is a truly evil genius.

    Hit of the Party!

    I bought this for my 14 year old nephew. He brought it to my 60th birthday party and everyone ended up playing with it. It was hilarious watching people throw the potato around the circle. We all laughed until we cried! I highly recommend it. It’s a “shockingly” great toy!
