For Novelty Or Decorative Purposes
I brought the cat oven mitt as a novelty gift for my daughter and for myself, as both of us have cats.It is cute in appearance and I use mine for decorative purposes only. I wouldn’t want to use it for the stove or oven and risk it getting soiled or ruined. Honestly, I also don’t feel that it is the most effective oven mitt for preventing burns. If you plan to use it for decorative purposes only, then it is worth purchasing.

These are really cool!
I purchased these as a gift for a relative with a cow-themed kitchen. These mitts are hilarious! The coloring is really good and the palm is the cow’s mouth! They are probably better used as decorative oven mitts than with really hot pan because they don’t feel very thick, but I think that’s expected with something like these.
Doppler21 –
Does not have very good heat resistance
Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it doesn’t protect from heat as good as I thought it should. If your not fast handling pans the heat will seep through and burn you.
Amazon Customer –
Very cute, (not very functional)
The description says it’s decorative and it is. Not very heat resistant and shaped like claw. You can do the math on how well it works as an actual oven mitt. We hang it in the kitchen.

Cute!
My dog chewed up my last oven mitt (apparently it had some gooey cheese on it so the poor boy couldn’t resist) but that’s fine because it gave me an excuse to buy this cute little kitty cat mitt! It’s not as plush as my other one, and doesn’t have any fancy grips or anything, but it does the job well and looks cute hanging on the hook on my wall. Hopefully the dog will be able to resist eating it this time!

Cute but Not Incredibly Functional
I’ve been using it a lot and I love how it looks and the price was good. My only complaint, though it is a pretty substantial one for an oven mitt, is that it doesn’t protect from heat incredibly well; it’s usable, just use caution before grabbing anything hot with liquid or that is very heavy; I learned the hard way with a cast-iron skillet.

Depends what you want it for
So, as a gag gift, this gets 5 stars. As a costume accompaniment, this gets 5 stars. As an oven mitt that’s useful, it’s more like a 3.5 – the construction/design leads to clumsy maneuvering, even for oven mitt dexterity, and it’s a bit thin (quite the juxtaposition of features!). A solid 4, really – it works ok, looks as I hoped and is very lobstery. I only got one claw so will probably order more if this costume is gonna happen…Halloween ’18 at this point!

Perfect gift for that grandmother-in-law in your life
I bought these cheap oven mitts for my grandmother-in-law for Christmas. She’s been using them for about a year now, and as far as I know, her hands have not been severely damaged yet from hot pans and handles.Poor old granny does not have feeling in her hands or feet anymore (horrible diabeetus) ; So I reckon that even if these don’t work, she wouldn’t know anyway. But its fun to have a giant lobster claw in the kitchen! Fun fun!

For decorative purposes only
This mitt is for “decorative purposes only”, and it is very thin – it certainly won’t protect your hand as well as it should from high heat. Well, that’s annoying, considering this was not included in the product description. However, that actually is not my purpose for purchasing, so I will give this 4 stars because it is absolutely adorable and lives up to the “decorative purposes” part. I bought this as a gift for my sister who is beyond crazy about moose and she loves it. My understanding is that she has used it for baking and it gets the job done, but not nearly as well as a standard, not-only-for-decorative-purposes mitt.

For every fisherman
It’s very cute. Its a Christmas gift so I don’t know the heat resistance. But it’s very well made.
DS Albeck –
Cute! Functional!
So cute! These work great for light, at home cooking. I wouldn’t hold something hot for a long time with these, but they work great for everyday cooking and baking.
Kelly Meyer –
Product itself was fine. It works as an oven mitt should
The only issue (personally – this was a gift for me) is the green color makes it look more like a bass than a shark LOL
N. S. Auxier –
Good for decoration
I gave this as a gift. It says it is meant to use as a decoration. I definitely wouldn’t risk burning your hand and ruining the cute mitt by using it on hot pans. I really like it and it is pretty good quality, but I didn’t realize that the recipient wasn’t going to be able to actually use it when I bought it.
Jackie –
Fun and functional
This is a great oven mit! My kids have taken it from the kitchen and chase each other with it. When I do get to use it, it is easy to slip on and is very heat resistant.

Nice gift for cat lovers
Really cute! Being a crazy cat lady, I was immediately drawn to this. Color and sharpness of colors exactly as pictured. The thickness is sufficient to prevent burns, and it goes up far enough past my wrist to keep me from getting burned on oven racks when I have to reach far back into the oven. I have been using one of these for several years now, and this new purchase was for a friend who also loves cats. She was thrilled to have one of these, too.

eh its ok
i bought it as a funny quick joke for a friend. It did the trick but it was smaller than I thought and smelled a little weird. I just thought it wasn’t very official looking. It sorta looked like something you would find at your grandmas house. (lol) but i guess if thats what you want in a funny joke its perfect!
Courtney –
Nice Longevity
I am surprised that the lobster claw oven mitt is still going strong after five years, however, its not always the most efficient oven mitt. It still works though and it goes well with my new shark oven mitt lol. I bought it when I was 17 and of course a silly oven mitt was more practical to me over a traditional one at the time. The lobster claw mitt is still my favorite though.
Ailin –
Not as nice as pictured, but still cool.
I bought this for a friend who loves odd things. Sadly the quality isn’t as good as what’s pictured. There were threads hanging that I had to cut and the image itself isn’t as clear. It’s still a neat thing, so it worked for what I needed it for. Just wished the quality was a little nicer, but for $7 it was ok.

Cow is… interesting
I work at a restaurant that has the word “cow” in its name, so I ordered this for the owner who loves baking. They don’t show the teeth of the cow in the pictures (I would post a picture, but I don’t have it anymore) and if I had seen them I would’ve bought a different mitt. Sort of makes the cow look more like an angry dinosaur.

Perfect gift
My daughter has this under there this year. I tested it out for heat resistance etc. Great gift idea.
Cat LeDevic –
5 stars and she has no idea how it functions as an oven glove??
Caveat: I have no idea how this actually functions as an actual OVEN MIT as it’s never gone anywhere near the stove! If anyone has seen those videos about cats responding to cucumbers, you know that felines can act extremely oddly over certain things (terrified of cucumbers. Absolutely terrified.)Well, this dang thing falls directly into the cucumber territory, except it’s the reverse. I have 3 very, very picky Siamese who are generally too haughty to really enjoy real cat toys. I should know: I have a house-ful. And then I caught sight of THIS cute thing for the kitchen! Ordered it. It arrived – and oh lord WHY didn’t I break out the video.I never got near the thing. Put the package down and that’s the last time I was anywhere close to it. It vanished instantly. Looked everywhere: finally gave up. Then the creature appeared on the 2nd story of my house – missing an ear. I reached down to rescue it, and a blue eyed streak shot in, grabbed it – gone again. Now it appears in various spots around the house – a little more bedraggled every time – and I have the happiest Siamese on earth. Have to order a bunch more! NO idea why it trips their little feline triggers, but it truly, truly does. Promise a video for next time.

Pretty kitty oven mitt.
Good level of thickness to protect against heat, makes a great gift, wish they had matching kitty square pot holders, would make a nice gift set.
Hulagirl88 –
Be careful
This is very thin and not heat resistant. And there are particular spots that are even less heat resistant. Be careful you do not burn your hand. We have to use this with a dish towel take something out of the oven. Cute but just for taking hot lids off pot on stove perhaps but not things from the oven. Need to caution everyone who uses this. Would not give as a gift for that reason.

Fun for cooking
These are fun for shark loving cooks! The only thing I would keep in mind when buying these is they run a bit small. I would not recommend these for anyone with large hands.
btbtdabt –
Cute but hard to use
I bought this because I wanted to see my roommates look stupid in them. But instead they look really cute. The only downside to this is that it’s really hard to use to grab things. I don’t mean that it’s not heat proof, just something about the structure of the gloves makes it really hard to grab things. Now I use the tip of the glove to hook things out of the oven first and then try to grab it… LOLHow cute people look is definitely worth the hassle though.9/10

Perfect Father’s Day Gift
My almost seven year old son though my husband was getting two, like they were supposed to be snow mitts or something, I don’t know. He was still happy when he found out it was an oven mitt and there was only one because, he was so stoked to see his dad with a lobster claw as a hand. Of course, my husband never fails in the humor department and now has a “character” he plays when the claw is on. It sounds a lot like Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants. I thought he could be a little more original but hey, we all get a kick out of it and my youngest gets the most enjoyment out of it because he definitely takes the credit for choosing it. Great product.
student4life –
White Elephant, yes. Heat resistant, no.
It is not heat resistant at all. Maybe it will be a good pot holder instead. Bought for a white elephant party.
MICHELE –
Got it for my dog as a puppet
My gog loves puppet play. The dog toy puppets not sturdy. This works perfect for puppet play and it thick so you don’t feel dogs teeth.
Theodore –
Not perfect but good
It’s shape makes it a little awkward and not practical but it’s perfect in every other way.
James B Riley IV –
Cute gift
Very cute gift. A little awkward ergonomics -because you lose your leverage when you lift something with scissors. But a cute gift and it’s very heat resistant.
Chele B –
Functional and fun
I bought this for my parents to take camping, but they haven’t received it yet, so I can’t fully rate it. It feels sturdy and big enough for my dad’s huge hand. The antlers are sewn together near the glove opening so I’m not worried that they might get in the way or catch fire. As nature lovers I’m sure they’ll love this mitt.
Adam K. –
Nice, terrifying over mitt
I bought this oven mitt to go along with baking materials and a brownie recipe for a gift exchange. Quality seems fine. The copyright sticker from 1992 was funny. I guess someone held these in a warehouse while waiting for the great oven-mitt frenzy of 2016 to hit. Very forward thinking. What’s unique about this pig oven mitt is, well, how it looks. In the picture, the pig looks so happy and pleased to be grabbing your hot bakeware; in real life, the pig looks slightly more terrifying. Have you ever heard of the game Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs? Well, this oven mitt looks kind of like the pig monsters from that game. Terrifying at night, sure, but being able to stick your hand inside of this frightening monster takes the edge away. Turning this pig into my own horror puppet allows me to bring joy to others by having a snarling, deranged-looking hog serve them their hot meals. Your move, Mandus.

Buying another one right after I type this.
So I first bought this oven mitt in May of 2018, and we have been using it as our main oven mitt since then. It is getting a little raggedy, so I’m about to purchase a new one. I wouldn’t recommend this for holding something hot for an extended period of time, but if you are just getting something out of the oven, you can use it as a real oven mitt.
Amber Davis –
Kinda Small but Perfect in Color
I love the bright colors, it looks just as advertised. I love that it’s so cool and it actually functions well as oven mitt. Held a hot skillet by the bottom while putting it in the oven. I will say that I’m a woman with medium sized hands and I thought the mitt was kinda small. The pointy claw doesn’t make it easy to grip because my hand isn’t claw-shaped but it isn’t bad if you’re not too clumsy. I’m still getting used to using this mitt but I do like overall so far.

Good, funny, worth it.
Got these as an xmas gift last year and they’ve been working out nicely….As in xmas gift for the house so I know how they actually feel. They protect your fingers from melting off and they do a good job of keeping them too hot. The thumb of this is very awkward to use as it’s kind of stubby and doesn’t move too much. These are more about using 2 of these to grip vs using it as a dexterous mitt to hold things one handed. I mean it’s possible, but more difficult than other mitts I’ve used. They haven’t caught fire or even tried to murder my face so I guess the lobster claw oven mitts are okay by me.

The cow says…
Using this mitt reminds me of The Profesional when Leon was snorting while using the Piggy mitt. This is why I bought the mitt, and because my mom likes cows. The fabric is very durable and it has more details on it than the picture; in other words, it’s even better than in looks! The best thing about this mitt, is that you dont have to use it to grab hot trays; you can use it for anything! If your kids are bored, you can have the cow sneak up on them and bite their ears! If the cookies may or may not be too hot, have the cow taste one and find out! If the toilet is clogged, you can have the cow do all the work, biting into the plunger and going for all it’s worth! The best part of all, this cow doesn’t just say “moo.” When held, the cow can talk just like a real person! How easy is that? Eheheheheh…

cute item but note LIGHT DUTY USE
cute item but would not use for heavy/hot items. probably a better decoration than useful but probably ok for cookie sheets & light duty use.

Great Gag Gift
I ordered the lobster pattern and it looks amazing. It was meant to be a gag gift and it definitely serves its purpose. Works pretty okay as an actual oven mitt. Just letting y’all know that I ordered this expecting to receive one mitt and I received six. Gave the extra to some friends.
Alexis E –
Don’t buy to actually use
This mit is cute and funny but it is actually shaped like a claw so it can’t grab anything safely. It would be a great decoration or gag gift but it’s not really practical.

Cool oven mitt
This was a gift, but I did try it on. I suspect this is more novelty the practical, but the colors were vibrant and it was received very well. In other words ” This is awesome!”

FISH MITT is life, FISH MITT is the way
It’s a FISH MITT. Jazz up your kitchen with this gem. Does it protect your hand from heat? Nah, not really. But who cares, that’s not the point! Put on a sweet song, and make it look like your fish mitt is singing along, and you’ll be the hit of the dinner party. It also opens up towards your wrist, so you can give your FISH MITT some sick dance moves, too. Buy a dozen– keep 2 for yourself, and gift the other 10 to your closest friends and confidants.FISH MITT. FISH MITT. FIIIIIISH MITT HOO-HA-HA!!

Nice but material just okay
These are adorable but more aesthetically pleasing than functional. Hard to get a grip when placing hand inside and therefore creates a risk of dropping a hot plate/pan. The shark glove is a better selection

The Danger Fish – saving your fingers one hot cookie sheet at a time!
Notice that this says, “light duty” in the name. That means you should pull whatever it is out of the oven and put it down fairly quickly. I’m serious – clear off a space on the stove BEFORE you take the cookie sheet out of the oven. Holding a 350 degree pan for more than 30 seconds or so gets uncomfortable.I bought this because my first birthday after my husband & I met, he gave me a fish themed birthday. Seriously weird, but we’ve been married for 23 years now, so it must have worked. Among other fish themed presents, he gave me two fish oven mitts. We named them the “Danger Fish” and they served us well for over a decade. But oven mitts eventually wear out, and sadly we had to replace them with ones that weren’t a little thin in spots.I came across these on Amazon this year and bought one for my hubby’s Christmas present. After the whole, “OMG – you found it! I love it!” thing, we made cookies. Hence, I learned what “light duty” means. But this really works well. It’s big and comfortable. A pro basketball player might have problems fitting his hand into this, but a regular person should have no problems.

Fun Gift
Bought two of kitten oven ones as white elephant presents. They are very cute and recipient was pleased. Came as described. Color was slightly darker than shown in pictures, but not too off, and everything else as described. They did seem a little thin, but since it is for a gift, I can’t confirm how well their usage are – I see mix reviews from other customers. Would recommend for a fun present/decoration at the very least.

They show a set but only one comes for the price.
First thing first! They show 2 lobster oven mitts but I only received one. I went and checked and it only comes with one. Wish they would of showed that better and wish I would of looked harder I guess. Now I have to order another one. Also it’s not very practical. More of like a funny gift. Hard to pick things up.

Pretty awesome shark head oven Mitt.
This Mitt is awesome. Excellent heat resistance, totally enables singing “Baby Shark” while cooking/preparing food in the kitchen. All in all, great oven mit. Doesnt get too warm at all with it on. Would recommend.

Great oven mitt and fun, too!
This is a great oven mitt, I have to say! Not only is it fun and silly, but it’s actually well-insulated & well-made, so it’s practical too. Most of these novelty oven mitts are really thin and you can’t use them without burning your fingers but this one doesn’t fall into that category. I actually gave it to my boyfriend (who’s a fishing guide and a great cook) as a gift and it’s large enough for a man’s hand, which is rare in this type of item, AND it’s thick enough to use when you something out of the oven.Read through the reviews on the other novelty oven mitts and then read through the reviews for this one…there’s a big difference between them!Plus the price was great and it came in 2 days with Prime…a win-win-win!!

Unda da sea
I bought this to throw at my employees when they would get out of line. I think of myself as Tritan, King of the seas, and my staff are sea horse soldiers – every so often, when discipline is necessary to correct some sort of irrational behavior that goes against the law of the sea, I call upon Sebastian (no relation) the great lobster (crab?) of Atlantis to come and remedy the situation. He strikes down hard with his claw and the unworthy seahorse cowers, aware that this was merely a taste of wrath and that further poor behavior will unleash a fury the world is not yet ready for. Also great for removing hot objects from toaster ovens. 10/10

NO padding – you will get burned!
Such cute oven mitts but NOT for oven!!! I wish this company would just use effective foam or batting or whatever it would take to keep one’s hands from burning (BADLY). I’d definitely pay extra if they were well made.

So versatile
So… I had no interest in using this as an oven mit. I bought it with the sole intention of having this be a toy for my dogs.. kinda like a puppet. They loved it, but if your planning on using this as I have please know, it is possible to be completely ripped apart in less than 10 seconds. Aside from that, it’s a great product!
